Welcome to Janesville

Janesville is the Rock County seat and one of the largest cities in southern Wisconsin, known as "Wisconsin's Park Place" for its many parks and green spaces along the Rock River. The revitalized downtown centers on ARISE Town Square, a riverfront gathering space for concerts, markets, and community events.

Main Street and Milwaukee Street are filled with locally owned restaurants, wine bars, and boutiques, and Rotary Botanical Gardens draws visitors from all over the region. Families also have easy access to UW‑Whitewater at Rock County and Blackhawk Technical College.

You'll find a wide range of housing, from historic homes near downtown to established subdivisions and newer builds on the east and north sides. With I‑39/90 running right through town, Madison is about 40 minutes north and Beloit is about 15 minutes south.
